The first major setback on the printer

The pictures in this post were taken back on April 20th, when I was working full-tilt on my 3D DLP printer. I've finally gotten around to uploading them and describing what happened. This was the first real test, and needless to say it didn't work at all! Read on to learn from my mistakes and see what happened!

This is a small test vat I put together using some JB Kwik Epoxy for this test.

Lowering the stage into the vat for a dry run.

Dry run in progress...

I poured in a small amount of the Solarez resin into the vat.

No leake.. looking good!

Lowering the stage for the first test.

Lowering...

Pretty full, eh?? This is because the vat was so small that there was only about a quarter inch of space between the outside edges of the stage and the walls of the vat. The real vat will be much bigger and eliminate this issue.
